Human Factors and User Acceptability
The widespread acceptance of speech and language technologies is not only dependent on the technical capabilities of the LT components, but also on the usability and user-friendliness of the overall application. Human factors play a key role in the design of interactive systems, such as dictation systems, spoken dialogue applications, and multi-modal communicators. In order to increase user acceptance, usability design and usability evaluation should be taken into account right from the start of an interactive systems project.
